THANK YOU...

I spent the month of August with dizzying headaches, an injured shoulder, and a black eye after I suffered a seizure on the eve of my 25th birthday weekend. This week a neurologist determined that all of my brain activity is normal and it was hopefully just a one time occurrence caused by sleep deprivation. Now that I am allowed to drive again, I wanted to make a dramatic public statement thanking everyone who helped me while I was down and out:

  • Hattie, Eleanore, Caitlin, Brynn: thank you for being first responders & getting me through that weekend in one piece! Juju, Kyle, and Shelby also!

  • Vicki Kanne, thank you for driving me around and drying my tears when I thought I was dying! I am blessed to have a fearless mom like you. You approach pain and uncertainty with tenacious realism. Thank you for curating a peaceful home full of dogs & cats & gardens & omelettes that I can escape to when I need to reset my brain. Thank you for watching three seasons of Dog the Bounty Hunter with me while I had an existential crisis on your couch for 72 hours. Thank you for always making me feel supported in life. I love you (& Kenneth, too!)

  • Nanny, thank you for chauffeuring me to neurologists and being my facebook messenger nurse 24 hours a day. Thank you for always stopping for Bakers Square amid swirling chaos! Thank you to Kendra and Mary also, all of my aunts are nurses- it’s better than WebMD!

  • Shannon, you are always such a rock in a crisis… Dwayne Johnson is shook, WWII medic vibes only... thanks for making Leo Season such a success despite everything. Thanks for *living with me* in both attitude and life! Maddie “Mad Dog” Hansen, thank you for religiously checking in... Gemini communicators were essential to my recovery!

  • Shout out to all the healers: My chiropractors, for working on my shoulder (and my head!) If you don't have a chiropractor on speed dial, you need CARON CHIROPRACTIC on Snelling Ave, (651)255-9999. Also MAYO NEUROLOGY, woo! Still scraping glue out of my hair, but woo!

  • Shout out to my many bosses at MSAB and the brewery, thank you for being lenient while I felt like hot garbage and couldn’t drive!

  • Thank you to all the family/friends/neighbors who sent me positivity. I feel grateful to have a web of people who showed up when I needed them the most.

My twenties have been very “work-hard/play-hard” so I’m aiming for more tranquility in my 25th year. Remind me to go to bed early.

...I LOVE YOU!
